Lesson from Dolly on Valentine's Day

Knowledge

Silence is golden my friends. It's been my good and constant companion during troubled times. Though keeping my mouth shut on civic affairs seems like a sacred must-do right now, today calls for a little bit of love.

One of my all-time favorite love songs is this one written by Dolly Parton. It's that kind of plainspoken love written from a tired heart. Many folks I know are breaking up with family, old friends, and neighbors. I know folks gotta do what they gotta do. But all the noise of politics should not be the sole cause. But if it is, or if any other reason is the cause, leave 'em with some kindness before you go, just like this lady felt compelled to do.

Happy Valentine's day to all of you reading this.

Thank you for the walk down memory lane.

Evangel

Such a beautiful song which I always thought was about parting ways from a romantic relationship. Now that I know her true intention behind those lyrics, I'll never hear this song in the same way again.

I agree with you that if it's necessary to leave a relationship over political views or any other reason, do it with kindness and compassion in your heart. It's a good message and reminder to anyone struggling with human beings they once loved.

Thank you for your Valentine's message, and I hope your Valentine's day brought you some love.
