Unanswered Prayers!
When I was 17, I prayed for Greg Kracy to like me and ask me to the prom. Greg Kracy did neither.
When I was 21 and pregnant with my first child, I prayed for it to be a girl. I had a boy and named him John.
When I was 31 and pregnant with my second child, again I prayed for a girl. I had a boy and named him Josh.
When I was 46 and my daughter-in-law was having my grandchild...well, you know what I prayed for. Third time would be the charm, right? Her name was to be Samantha. His name is Ben.
Those were just some of the prayers among many that weren’t answered.
But guess what? I am so happy they weren’t. I couldn't be happier with my boys and grandson. I can't imagine a life without them. I actually think my man boys are as close to daughters, maybe even more, as I could get. They’re caring, loving, and we have the best relationship, ever!
I still remember many of the other unanswered prayers. And today I say, Thank you, God!
What did I know about what was best for me? What do any of us really know?
For how many unanswered prayers are you grateful today?
I don't have anything against praying. All I'm saying is that we need to stop praying for things we may not want but think we do. Let life happen.
More than likely, what happens will be better than what you prayed for.

Looking back on some of my prayers, boy I lucked out they weren't answered.

My sentiments exactly!

"Let life happen" may challenge our sensibilities about our responsibilities, but it is likely the holiest thing to do.

I agree. I wouldn't be where I am today had a lot of my prayers been answered. God knew what was best. Still does!
