Thinking of Giving Up?

Knowledge

Disneyland...The Happiest Place On Earth. Have you heard of it? Most people have. But did you know that Walt Disney, the very man responsible for Disneyland's existence, was fired as a young man from his newspaper job? Do you know why? Because, he was told, he lacked good ideas. Wow! He "lacked good ideas." At that point, some people would just give up, wallow in self-pity, and start identifying as a "victim."

In 1921, however, Walt Disney decided to start his first animation company. Unfortunately, that was a bust, and the company quickly went bankrupt. After this failure, did Walt Disney throw in the towel?

That's a hard NO. Walt Disney, did not, despite the fact that at one point he literally had to eat dog food to survive. Dog food!!!

If you were surviving on dog food, do you think you'd have the inner strength to start another animation company after the failure of the first one? Or would you just give up, decide on a better brand of dog food, instead?

Again, Walt Disney, did not decide on better dog food. What he did was to start another animation company. Actually several, before finally becoming a household name.

The message here is that the only failure is in giving up. Persistence is the key to any success because there are no "overnight successes." Ever!

If there's something on which you've been working and it hasn't yet come to fruition, don't despair. The Universe has its own perfect timing. And nothing can take that away. The Universe has its net under you ready to catch you and help you get back on your feet.

So, be patient. Keep working. And wait for it...

It's really pathetic the number of people who, rather than support you, are eager to squash you by saying you're wrong, you have no talent, no chance to succeed, or, even worse, you're crazy. My mom used to say when people were being mean, critical, and extremely unloving, it was because they were jealous. And she was absolutely right because, in the long run, small-minded people with closed hearts miss out, and Walt proved it to be so.
