Patience is the Key!

Knowledge

Thaddeus Thomas didn't see it coming. He knew his wife had a temper, but he didn't expect to die because of it.

In May 21, 2014, Toya Mathis got into an argument with her husband. She was pregnant at the time. She became so enraged, that she ran over him with her car. He died. She went to prison. Now, what could possibly have upset Ms. Mathis so much that she would be willing to take a life and throw her own away? I can't even imagine.

I'm certain that Ms. Mathis wasn't thinking. She was in a fit of rage. And when you're in a rage, you're basically blind and deaf.

How many times have we said or done something in a state of utter frustration and anger, and after calming down, thought, "What was I thinking?" We may apologize, but after the words or actions are out, they cannot be taken back.

The key is patience. In any dispute, it's important to think and reflect before taking an action that could leave us regretful for the rest of our lives. Reactivity is the enemy.

Patience is the key to many things. It's true that it's a virtue. With patience:

We can be gentler with our loved ones.
We can attain fitness goals.
We can study a career.
We can save for what we want.
We can succeed at almost anything.

Patience is the key, my friend.

With patience you can open any door.

Work on that muscle. Practice while you're sitting in traffic, standing in line, or are hearing your elderly parent repeat the same story for the umpteenth time.

Building a strong patience muscle will be one of the best things you ever do!

Let's learn from our friend, the snail--never in a hurry to get where it's going, but eventually gets there!

Our world is so crazy that it makes patience all the more important. As difficult as it may be, being the patient person in the room can calm others. I'm so glad you wrote this; it's a great reminder during the constant "rush" of our environment.

It is a great reminder. In a society that thrives on instant gratification, it's hard to be patient. We may feel as though we're missing out on something. But the Universe has divine timing. Our patience allows It to do its thing at the perfect time. We just have to trust.

Patience, trust, and faith—virtues we're neither born with nor do they come easily. Perhaps that's what makes them so precious.

That's right! None of those comes easy!
