So true, when it's all banging around your head, it's hard to see the forest for the trees. You offered several good options. Trusted friends are the best. It opens the door for you to be there for them when they're in need, and your trust builds. Thanks, I'm leaving my room now 🌞
Your post got me thinking about how, in some ways, it was easier for me to reach out to a friend when feeling overwhelmed with heavy emotions when I was in my late teens and 20s.
This was likely because, at that stage in our lives, my friends and I had far less going on and didn't have to consider "They're probably picking up their kids now," and "I'm sure they're in the middle of dinner, and I don't want to be a bother."
It's important to remember, however, that reaching out to a trusted friend when we need them is as beneficial to them as it will be to us. As "grown-ups," the opportunities to be present and supportive of loved ones may not happen often, so following your advice, we shouldn't hesitate to pick up the phone and ask for a shoulder to lean on.
