I really get what you're saying. It takes practice to "go with the flow." My "out of the flow" mind targets the number of items to be accomplished on my never ending to do list making me feel like a failure if the goal isn't met. I have to remind myself, as you did, that being in the flow is the place to be. I'm learning to be happy at the end of my day when I know I've been in the flow instead of being a spinning top. It takes practice, but the payoff is worth it. I'm glad you had a relaxing weekend; you certainly deserve it ❤️
Good for you! Everyone needs to cool their jets from time to time.
Curiously you're the 3rd person I've heard this week say they need to be productive, but they remind me of spinning tops. I said, what bad things would happen to you if you're not productive? One said they wouldn't feel good--the other said they weren't raised to twiddle their thumbs. What would you'd say?
Isn't it fascinating, and at the same time troubling, that we'll fully support a friend, client, or loved one in taking a break from the constant "doing" of modern life, yet we resist doing it ourselves. It's as if we're all afflicted with "That's not for me" syndrome.
I hope you were able to settle into the quiet moments in your time away, giving your spirit a well-deserved recharge.
