Rocketdyne Engine Ready to Lift Glenn

Photograph caption:
Engineer Keith Settles climbs up Alfa III, the static test stand for rocket booster engines. This is the stand where the booster for Saturday's man-in-space orbital shot was tested in 1960. The test was conducted at Rocketdyne's Santa Susana Field Laboratory in Simi Valley.

I'm looking at the top rung of that ladder and thinking how cool it is that the paint's worn off...so many men climbing it doing all those tests of rocket booster engines. Thanks for giving me an inside view. Great shot!
