Lakers and Knicks Battle For The Ball

The Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena, located at 3939 S. Figueroa Street, was officially opened on July 4, 1959 by then Vice President Richard M. Nixon. The last event at the arena was a Bruce Springsteen concert. The arena was closed on March 19, 2016 and demolished to make room for a new soccer stadium.

It was another 30 years before basketball rose in popularity. In the 1970s, games, including championships, were often tape-delayed and shown late at night.
If the players in your photo knew some of their present-day successors would be paid tens of millions annually in contracts and endorsements, they'd likely have wished to be born fifty years later.
