Helicopter Flying New Career For Mrs. Foy

Photograph article partially reads:
"'Women are going to go for helicopter flying in a big way,' says Mrs. Lauretta Foy of Van Nuys. Mrs. Foy, a petite grandmother of three, is the 45th woman in the world to earn a helicopter pilot's license. She obtained her pilot's license in June and her instructor's license in July. She was recently elected to membership in the Whirlygirls, an international organization for women helicopter pilots...As a member of the 99's, she won the Powder Puff Derby in 1949 and was named Woman of the Year in Aviation by the Women's International Aeronautic Association. 'I've always loved flying and my career keeps turning back to it,' she said, 'and has for 20 years. But, I don't think I have found any phase of it that has intrigued me so much as helicopters.'"
