To me, this is one of those stories that reveals the intended direction of our country by current leaders. It was also a teaching moment for all sheriffs who break the law in a way that would please this president, hoping for an invite to Maralago or better.

Clearly, the sheriff was a fan of Charlie Kirk and, borrowing from the president's playbook, abused his authority by exacting retribution against Mr. Bushart and his family. I hope his daughter's labor wasn't made more difficult by his jailing.
Trump has unleashed many monsters. Primarily they are all men who feel inadequate deep down and overreach their authority to gain admiration from hire ups and bask in the power and glory they otherwise lack.

The other one, playing big shot, was too dumb to understand the limits of being a small-town sheriff. Geez. Now he's a national pariah. Maybe one day they'll make a movie out of this story and he can brag about himself to his grandkids.
