"The Day After" Feature Presentation
The Day After is a feature length film that first aired on ABC television is 1983. During its initial broadcast, over 100 million people watched it and, in 2009, it set a record as the highest rated television film in U.S. history.
After holding a private screening of the film at Camp David, President Reagan became so depressed he decided to pick up the phone and call then Soviet leader Mikhael Gorbachev to discuss a reduction in nuclear armaments and the threat of global annihilation.
Recently, Vladimir Putin has vowed to use nuclear weapons if necessary. I’m posting this film to show people what nuclear warfare will look like should it happen intentionally or by accident and the devastating effects that will result for those who may survive it.
