New Music Video "In My Dreams"
In My Dreams was written when Phyllis, my dear friend Anita's mother, was dying.
I was wondering what kind of questions must be going through her mind about what it is like when one dies.
This experience certainly brought up a lot of questions for me.
The story my mind made up is that dying must be like a dream. A dream where you simply fall asleep, see Jesus, feel safe and warm in his arms forever.
I can imagine I am not the only one who has questions such as this...you might have some of your own.

I hear your voice as a sweet soothing lullaby. I felt like I was being held in a warm embrace as I was listening.
I was reminded of the bedtime childhood prayer "Now I lay me down to sleep." I understand this prayer has been revised several times to remove words of death because it was too frightening for children. I grew up with the original version not really knowing what it meant, "I pray the Lord my soul to take." I just repeated it because that is what was expected.
As an adult I understand what it means and oh yes I want my soul to be blessed, receive grace and taken home to God when the time comes. The words of In My Dreams is an invitation to see that while in the world nothing lasts forever, God does, and he is with us even when we take our last breath. Your words makes death less scary. It really isn't death but the dying process which for some is quite painful.
I appreciate you introducing the topic of death and dreams. A dream not a nightmare. I just read something recently saying even though 90% of Americans believe we need to get comfortable talking about death it is not happening with any frequency in daily conversations.
I do have a wonder, I don't know maybe it is a question. I have read and heard it said that we die the way we have lived. I wonder???

I have read countless stories of near-death experiences, and so often I've heard the person express how alive they felt on that other side, stating that we ourselves are the ones living in a dream state.
I don't believe we die. I believe we awaken finally to the truth, the mystery, and the glory of God. In your own tender way, through this beautiful song, you fully capture the peace and comfort that would infuse anyone who experiences such a transformation.

There's so much disruption in the world right now, so many news reports that don't sit right with me, and now a plague that's got Siberia in lockdown. Your voice, your music, your words come at the right time and still the heart against all the menacing thoughts that slip into our daily lives. I hope death is nowhere near, but with all the warnings, one can never know. Thank you for giving us a respite from it all and some inspiration to imagine what it will be like when all those saints go marching in.

I can't top what everyone else said, but I wholeheartedly agree with them all. I keep appreciating your music and the beauty you bring to it with your healing voice. This song is no exception!
I have always wondered about death, but none of us can know for sure what happens after it's all said and done. I know energy can only be transmuted and never destroyed, the cocoon and butterfly is a good example, so I take that to heart and trust I will reunite with all my loved ones at that time of passing. If Jesus is there to welcome me home, that will be more sweet icing on my welcome home cake!
