Let privacy exist
For weeks now people around the world have been fixated on the Royal family especially Kate. Even public figures have the right to privacy to deal with life changing news. We all need to pledge to step back and ask ourselves if we would want everything publicized. We need to let others live and share when they’re ready not when we’re ready

You are so right. Public figures are human beings entitled to the same right to privacy as anyone else. We have no right to know anyone else's business, celebrity or not, or harass them to satisfy our curiosity.
Today's a very sad day in view of Kate's news, but a good day to heed your pledge and take it to heart. Thank you for posting this.❤️

Perfectly stated. Television personalities, news, and gossipy social media always have to find a pot to stir. My grandma had a saying, "Tend to your own garden," which is a polite way of saying, "Mind your own business." I'll join in your pledge and "Tend my own garden," and urge others to do the same. Thanks!

The media and paparazzi's sentiment of "If you choose to be a public figure, then you're giving up your right to privacy" is callous, small-minded, and responsible for great harm.
I'm taking your pledge to heart and happy to be on board with it.

I wholeheartedly join in your pledge. I have often been appalled at the lack of sensitivity displayed towards public figures. They are people...and were ordinary just like us before they became famous. The fact that they are well-known does not mean they don't deserve kindness and compassion in their times of pain and challenge.
Thank you for the reminder.
