Thirty five years ago today, my dad, my hero, died. Yes, I was definitely a daddy’s girl. Since he died in September, I was dreading my first Christmas, three months later, without him. We were in the Christmas tree business, and everything about the season reminded me of him. Five days before Christmas, 1990, I found an old roll of film in a drawer. Not knowing what was on it, I prayed that there would be at least one picture of my beloved father. I got so lucky! There was one last picture of my Dad, with all three of my children, sitting on his lap, in front of the Christmas tree the year before. Memory eternal, Dad.

Adorable picture. Always good to have sweet memories.

This sweet post with its precious photo brought tears to my eyes. No one did more than your big-hearted dad to foster strong family bonds. He was there for everyone and made family gatherings his business, always bringing the best of food to the table whether from Canter's, Tommy's, or cooking up his own signature burritos. I still think of him often, always remembering him as a Christmas tree that lit up the lives of all those around him.

You are so right! Thanks for the recognition. He loved all of you. Me, too!

Thanks for sharing this very sweet photo, and your "stroke of luck" find. You're dad probably guided you to that drawer in 1990 👼Maybe you could have a special treat today to celebrate him. I bet he'd like that.

What a touching story. I bet your daddy wanted to assure you he'd still be there for Christmas and left you a little "Santa" gift as a sign. And what cuties those are sitting on his lap!

Awww, thanks. Those cuties are all grown up now. Life passes in the blink of an eye. (old lady saying)
