This is great reminder to pay close attention to the machines and our surroundings. So many times, we're in a hurry, not really paying attention, and that's what criminals count on. Thanks for the reminder!
You're welcome! I rarely use ATMs but I went to the bank yesterday to use one and when I inserted my card, the first message on the screen said cover the keypad when you enter your PIN. That message has never come up before so the problem must be getting worse.
Ugh...it's like the world has become one big landmine where we have to watch our every step and constantly look over our shoulder. I guess when a society makes money its king, then any form of grift becomes part and parcel to the overall "finders keepers, losers weepers" scheme. Thanks for the warning and avoidance tips!
I've always wondered how these skimmers are installed in, for example, a convenience store. Do they do it so quickly that a cashier doesn't notice, and nothing looks suspicious on camera?
In any event, these are very helpful tips I'll remember.
Believe it or not, some skimmers can be installed literally in seconds. So it doesn't take long. I imagine the more sophisticated the skimmer, the longer it takes to install. And you're very welcome!

I'm sure it is, and banks have to replace the money so they want the customer to take precautions.
