Many people already have overworked and strained muscles and connective tissue in their heads and necks from screen usage. A somewhat heavy device worn on the face would significantly add to that strain.
I commend Apple on their innovative vision, and though their first "at bat" with VR devices isn't yet a home run, there's little doubt it will be an amazing device with all bugs worked out eventually.
The early adopters must be disappointed after spending all that money!
This is an overindulgence with very little bang for your buck in my view. It's another must have entertainment gadget people can brag about, but I wonder how it will impact brain health.
I don't see the advantage to putting such a contraption on your head just to view your desktop or movies on a wide, fake screen, but I can imagine the excitement one might feel when they first steep in its wow factors. In my view, it's one more step down the rabbit hole of artificial "reality." Isn't that an oxymoron?
Maybe I'm just not the target demo for Apple with this device. I have no interest in it whatsoever. I've tested VR devices and they're not comfortable for me and I don't see how this one would be any different for me. Thanks for your comment as always!

While I have absolutely no interest in VR devices whatsoever, I completely agree with your point of view!
