Proponents of intermittent fasting swear that once you get through the discomfort of not eating (hunger, headaches, and other low blood sugar symptoms) you can expect energy levels and mental focus to rise significantly.
An 86-hour fast, however, is a whole other level that I have no desire to try.
I tried intermittent fasting a couple of times and honestly, didn't notice any significant results. Now that I'm retired and have been walking seven to ten miles a day, I'm leaner than I've been in decades.
