New Music Video "MY REFUGE"

Knowledge

There always seems to be a backstory to the birth of my music.

My inspiration for this song came in 2015 after reading Psalm 31 about God being our refuge. I was amazed at how the lyrics and melody filled up my mind in about 2 minutes.

As a member of my church's Worship Team I was playing guitar but never sang because I lacked confidence in my voice. When I wrote My Refuge it was the 1st song I ever shared with my pastor who is an accomplished musician and singer and in charge of the church music ministry. As he began listening, he was smiling and when he said, “I think you've got something” I was overwhelmed and speechless.

Fast forward, this song has not seen the light of day since that time. Accepting Well Street's invitation I am following my nudge to share My Refuge with you here on Youtropolis.

Starting with your sweet humming I felt warmly invited to listen to the song.

I am reminded, as you say, that trials, storms and long roads are part of life. No matter how often we think we are lost or alone, we are not. Not the external world but the inner connection with God is where we find our anchor and refuge and the wholeness of love.

Thank you for your beautiful music contributions. Please keep posting.
