New Music Video "Father"

Knowledge

Sitting in church one Sunday morning listening to Pastor Harold talk about our earthly father and our Heavenly Father connected me with some recent thoughts I'd been having about my relationship with my abusive dad growing up.
I struggled with understanding why or how a father could abuse their child. It took awhile to heal the trauma and confusion, which led to my forgiving him and learning the abuse was never about me... it wasn't my fault.
This song is in celebration and gratitude for my Heavenly
Father who I know does love me, who cares about me, and who does not hurt me.

Wow... tears and kleenex required for listening.

Once again you bring your sweet voice and powerful words to your music.

I acknowledge your courage and vulnerability for writing, singing and posting this song. There are many people who share your experience of childhood abuse. It goes without saying no child should ever have to endure this. The fact that it happened to my little sister makes it so much more poignant.

I celebrate with you that you know it was not your fault and your healing path led to forgiveness and a Father who loves you and does not hurt you.

Beautiful musical and lyrical rendering of honoring the Father. "And call no man your father on earth..." is really a powerful addition from the bible. I wonder how men feel about that. But in my personal experience, fathers are often afraid to love, to give it genuinely, to show it, or express it—for it might make them look weak. God knows this.

Also, your voice always sounds prayerful--like you're reaching out to God with a full and honest heart. It's a beautiful experience to listen to your music. Thank you for posting!
