A wish for kindness and dignity

Wish has not yet been granted
Wishing Well

I saw this story and it made me cry. It's happening all over the country and the numbers are continuing to rise.

Our grandparents should not be forced to live in their cars. Other nations with far less wealth manage to find ways to care for their elderly.

My wish is for elderly people to be treated with kindness and dignity and given the support they need if forced from their home or apartment. See a neighbor packing up? Please ask where they're going. See if you can help.

Honestly, it breaks my heart that we have no problem wasting millions on a silly military parade but complain about building more homeless shelters. What does that say about us?

Pathetic that we've come to this. The rich get richer, and the old live in their cars. The new America.

So heartbreaking and inexcusable. Sadly, this will become the new normal for the elderly. We can do much better but people look the other way, dismissing it as "their problem, not mine." So government agencies hobble along underfunded. If people were taking to the streets and protesting this horror as loudly as everything else, the problem might be seen as more urgent and taken more seriously.

Wilsons Grave

It's a disgrace. It's shameful. It's un-American.
