Is Malia really earning $3 million dollars per month? 

If you spend a lot of time on Facebook, you may remember that back in February of last year, a satirist posted that Malia Obama, daughter of former U.S. President Barack Obama, received $2.2 million in funds from the U.S. Agency for International Development. 

Naturally, this would cause upset considering Elon had reduced USAID to ashes—and many Facebook aficionados still tend to believe everything they read. But this hogwash was shared by a satirist who made clear that “Nothing on this page is real.” 

Nevertheless, Reuters Fact Check dug into the accusation by doing a deep dive on USAspending, a website that delineates federal spending. It determined that no such funds were awarded to her, but the U.S. State Department had allocated $41,022 for Malia's protection and lodging in 2016 while Obama was still president.
